Responsible MED/Regional Policies for Responsible Development: evaluation of CSR and economic performance in the MED area
DESCRIPTION:
In Responsible MED 9 partners use transnational cooperation to evaluate and capitalise on corporate social responsibility as a tool for competitiveness. Based on regional analysis and benchmarking, a common methodology will be developed and tested to evaluate and monitor links between Corporate Social Responsibility policy and levels of innovation and competitiveness. In promoting this concept as added value for SMEs, the project guarantees real economic impact and supports sustainability and equality in the MED area.
OBJECTIVES:
The project’s objective is to verify the link between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and enterprise competitiveness, and to develop an ad-hoc tool to evaluate this link.
While CSR gains a lot of attention nowadays, few enterprises, especially small sized ones, actually use social responsibility as a market strategy.
Therefore, the project looks to verify the economic benefits for a firm that adopts practices and instruments orientated towards social and environmental sustainability. In this way, the project can provide political decision makers with the necessary elements to plan, implement and evaluate sustainability policies.
Throughout the project, partners will undertake analysis, research and experimentation of instruments, with the direct involvement of economic and social stakeholders. Indeed, SMEs will be invited to test and provide feedback on the evaluation tool.
